Ways to Get Involved

All volunteer positions include complimentary membership for both the volunteer and their children, providing access to our community’s resources and activities. Additionally, volunteers receive priority when selecting classes, ensuring they have the first choice of educational opportunities available.

Advisors

  • Student Advisor: Student Advisors are available to assist individual students with academic questions, personal growth, and goal-setting. They offer one-on-one support to help students succeed in their studies and personal development, ensuring every student feels supported in their learning journey.
  • Group Advisor for Community Established Student Groups: Group Advisors provide dedicated guidance and support to a specific student group, ensuring members have the resources needed to collaborate effectively and achieve their goals. Acting as both mentor and moderator, they foster positive group dynamics while ensuring interactions are appropriate and safe.

Coordinators

  • Volunteer Coordinator: The Volunteer Coordinator organizes, orients, and provides ongoing support to volunteers, ensuring they are well-prepared and supported in their roles.
  • Membership Coordinator: The Membership Coordinator handles membership inquiries, oversees registration, and maintains communication with families to ensure a smooth and welcoming experience.

Other Important Roles

  • Teacher: Teachers are the heart of our educational community, bringing expertise and creativity to a variety of subjects. They have the flexibility to offer live virtual classes for real-time interaction, hybrid classes that blend live sessions with independent study, or self-paced courses through our website’s Learning Management System (LMS). Each teacher can design their classes to best support student learning and engagement, giving students diverse ways to explore, connect, and grow within the co-op.
  • Community Safety Moderator: Community Safety Moderators are dedicated to maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment within the co-op. They monitor interactions, enforce community guidelines, and address any concerns to ensure that all members feel comfortable and supported. Their role is essential in fostering a positive online space where everyone can engage freely and securely.
  • Communications Manager: The Communications Manager oversees and enhances our community’s internal and external communications, working closely with The Student Media Team to share news, updates, and events with members. They coordinate content for newsletters, social media, and announcements, ensuring our co-op’s voice is clear, engaging, and reflective of our values. By supporting The Student Media Team, the Communications Manager helps students develop their skills in media and communication while fostering a connected and informed community.
