✨ Frequently Asked Questions ✨
What is Àbulę and what does it mean? 🏠
Àbulę (pronounced “ah-boo-leh”) means “village” in Yoruba. We are a vibrant online homeschool community that brings together families to create a supportive, enriching virtual learning environment for students. Like a village, we believe in collaborative education and shared wisdom. 🌍
Can non-Black or non-African families and students join Àbulę? 🙋🏼♀️
Absolutely! While our platform proudly showcases African and Black representation, this focus is intentional—it aims to fill the void created by the historical underrepresentation of Black voices in academic and educational settings. However, this focus is not meant to exclude anyone. Our curriculum is designed to celebrate multiculturalism and diversity, featuring the voices and cultures of Black, Brown, Asian, and many other communities. We believe that students of all backgrounds benefit from learning about different cultures and histories. We welcome families and students from every background to join us and enrich our community with their unique perspectives. 🌎
